Whether you are looking to purchase a house, condo or loft, or to rent an apartment or a house, you have a choice of searching on your own, or working with a real estate professional.
If you chose to work with a Realtor®, you will have a trained and experienced professional looking after your best interest. There is a vast difference in services Realtors® are allowed to offer to their clients (who have hired them by signing a Buyer Representation Agreement) and to customers, who did not chose to be represented.
Realtors® have to fulfill three types of obligations in their practice: general, fiduciary and regulatory. Please review the page illustrating Realtor's obligations to clients and customers (link below).
Please take a look at the videos (below) released by Toronto Real Estate Board and by Ontario Real Estate Association, on the advantages of signing a Buyer Representation Agreement. The page on
Realtor's® duties
explains what a REALTOR® can, and what he/she cannot do, depending on whether you do or don't sign such agreement. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
